Playa Bonita

Playa Bonita, Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic is a place that I would recommend to anyone who likes the Caribbean. There are many things to see and do within Las Terrenas, but one of my favorite activities there is going to Playa Bonita in Las Terrenas. This post will give you all the information you need about this beach and why it’s so great!

Playa Bonita in Las Terrenas is one of my favorite beaches.

There’s no need to worry about the water being too cold or rough, because the water is always nice and warm. The sand is white, and clear enough that you can see your feet while walking on it! There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you get hungry, as well as bars where you can enjoy some drinks with friends. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this beach if you’re ever in Las Terrenas.

There’s even a bar at Playa Bonita that serves food and drinks throughout the day! This means that if you want to grab lunch while you’re at the beach, or if you need something refreshing after getting out of the water, then all of those options are available right there on site.

One thing we really love about this beach is that it has a view of sunset every night—you don’t have to worry about missing it because sunset happens every night here!

The best season for visiting this resort town is during the dry months of January, February, and March. These months are known as “tourist season” since they have very little rainfall and offer sunny skies and warm weather.

How long is the drive from Santo Domingo to Playa Bonita in Las Terrenas?

It takes about 3 hours by car to get from Santo Domingo to Las Terrenas via highway DR-2 (Southern Highway). This route passes through La Vega, San Jose de Ocoa, Hato Mayor and Los Haitises National Park before reaching Las Terrenas at kilometer marker 11 on highway DR-2 (Guanabo). You should allow yourself 4 hours if you plan on stopping at any places along this route like Paraiso de La Vega or El Ranchito del Gringuito restaurant just outside Hato Mayor city limits near kilometer marker 10 on highway DR-2 (Guanabo). If you want something quicker but less scenic then take a taxi or public bus instead! It should take less than 2 hours by public transportation but could cost up to twice as much per person than what it would cost using your own transportation vehicle such as an SUV or 4×4 vehicle with air conditioning running full blast while listening to some great music 🙂

Pros & Cons of Playa Bonita in Las Terrenas

  • The beach is beautiful, and the sand is soft. It’s not too hot, either.
  • There are plenty of locals who are willing to rent out their sun chairs and umbrellas for a small fee. This can save you money if you don’t want to pay for an expensive cabana or umbrella as well as all the food that comes with it! Just make sure they have enough space in their cabins before renting one out from them!
  • There are several restaurants within walking distance of Punta Bonita—just be careful when crossing the street! Be aware of moving vehicles and make sure there aren’t any cars coming from your direction before stepping off onto the road! If there isn’t anyone around then just take a quick look both ways before crossing over towards Playa Bonita (especially at night time when traffic slows down).
