From the airport in Puerto Plata, take the highway toward Sosua and turn left at the second exit (exit 2). After passing through Sosua, continue driving along this road until you reach La Romana. Turn right onto Route 40-3 heading towards Samaná. Continue following this road until you reach a fork in the road at km 66; keep going straight and then turn right onto Route 40-1A toward Bayahibe/Guayabal de Sosua/Las Terrenas (there’s no sign for Playa Lanza). You’ll pass through Guayabal de Sosua before reaching Las Terrenas; from there veer left onto Highway 200 at km 140 heading towards Samaná Peninsula as well as Higüey and San Juan de la Maguana into Los Haitises National Park (about 20km). Along this highway make sure not miss any turns – some are unmarked! Once inside Los Haitises National Park follow signs for “Parque Nacional Los Haitises” – these signs will lead directly into Playa Lanza del Norte!

Also note that if you want to venture up further into the mountains towards Monte Cristi then this is where you’ll want to head!
