Playa Poncho is one of the most relaxed and authentic beaches in Las Terrenas, Samaná Province, Dominican Republic.
Getting to Playa Poncho from Las Terrenas

From the centre of Las Terrenas, Playa Poncho is easy to reach:

By foot or bicycle for a short local trip from the main strip.

By moto-taxi for the fastest and cheapest ride from town.

By car or rental scooter if you want flexibility to combine it with other nearby beaches.

No long transfer is needed. That convenience is one of the reasons Playa Poncho works so well for families and travellers staying in town.

What the Beach Is Like

Playa Poncho has soft golden sand, natural palm shade, and generally calm, shallow water. Compared with the more commercialised stretches of coast, it feels quieter and more local. It is well suited to travellers who want a relaxed swim without the noise of beach clubs or heavy traffic.

Facilities

Swimming and Water Activities

The calm, shallow water makes Playa Poncho a strong choice for:

Swimming in easy conditions for most visitors

Families with children looking for gentler water

Snorkelling, paddleboarding, or kayaking when the sea is clear and calm

As with any beach in the area, check local sea conditions before entering the water after strong wind or rain.

Best Time to Visit Playa Poncho

Las Terrenas is warm year-round, but conditions vary by season:

September to November can be wetter and windier, so sea conditions are less predictable.

Nearby Beaches in Las Terrenas

Local Tips

Bring sun protection because shade is natural, not guaranteed everywhere.

Carry water and any snorkelling gear you want to use.

Leave no rubbish on the beach and respect the quieter local setting.

Summary

The Dominican Republic is known for its beautiful beaches, and Playa Coson is no exception. Located in Las Terrenas on the southern coast of Samaná Bay National Park, this massive beach is a popular destination for Dominican travelers but rarely crowded by tourists from other countries. The white sand is soft underfoot and stretches for miles along the shoreline. The water here ranges from crystal clear to turquoise blue; there are also several small islands nearby where you can dive or snorkel among colorful coral reefs.

Playa Coson is an expansive white sand beach located in Las Terrenas.

It’s part of the Samaná Bay National Park, which is one of the most beautiful places in the Dominican Republic. With its pristine waters and amazing scenery, it’s no wonder that Playa Coson is a popular destination for travelers looking to enjoy some time on the beach.

When you visit this area, there are two luxurious resorts where you can stay: Buena Vista Beach Resort and Hotel Villa del Mar Cabarete. Both offer stunning views of Samaná Bay and will make your stay even more memorable.

FAQ

What is the best time of year to visit Playa Coson?

The high season for tourism in Las Terrenas is from December through March. However, this doesn’t mean that you should avoid visiting between these months. The weather is still warm and pleasant during these months, and you will have a much easier time finding accommodation on the beach if you go during this time. If you do plan on visiting then make sure you book your flights early, as prices increase closer to Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

How much does an airline ticket cost from the U.S.?

The cheapest way to fly into one of these towns is usually through Puerto Plata Airport (POP), which has direct flights from New York City via JetBlue Airways or American Airlines twice a week at $750 per person round trip ($700 each way with taxes included). You can also fly into Santiago Dominican Republic International Airport (STI) with American Airlines for $495 round trip ($450 each way with taxes included). Both airports are about two hours away from Las Terrenas by taxi or bus; however, POP is closer to nearby cities like Higuey ($25-$35 by taxi ride), Santo Domingo ($50-$90 by taxi ride or 3 hrs by bus), and La Romana ($100-$120 taxi ride or 5 hrs by bus). STI may be more convenient if traveling around Hispaniola as it has better connections within Haiti/DR than POP does; however, keep in mind that neither airport offers direct international flights so most visitors will need to connect through Haiti/DR’s capital Port Au Prince before arriving here anyway!

Pros & Cons of Playa Coson

Pros:

It’s away from it all! You will not find any crowds at this beach.

The locals are very friendly and you can interact with them during your visit to the Playa Coson nature reserve (more on that later). They are happy to chat with you if you speak Spanish or Creole (Kreyol) and may even offer to take photos for you if they see you struggling with your camera. They also sell their own crafts here – everything from straw bags to paintings or carvings made out of wood or stone – so if there’s anything specific in mind just ask around!

Cons:

It’s difficult to get here unless by boat or air taxi which means transportation costs will be high depending on how far away from Punta Cana airport (PUJ) these places are located.

Greetings from the Dominican Republic!

Welcome to the Dominican Republic! This Caribbean nation is second only to Cuba in size and population, with 10 million residents making their home here. The capital city, Santo Domingo, is also the largest in all of Latin America.

The country’s tropical climate makes it a popular tourist destination year-round—but the summer months (December through March) are especially warm and dry. The rest of the year sees moderate temperatures paired with plenty of rainfall. Tourism is a big source of revenue for this country: It accounts for 15% of GDP and employs some one out every ten people here.

clear water at Playa Coson

Beach Coson

Beach Coson is a beautiful beach, which makes it perfect for families with children, as well as couples looking to relax and take in the scenery. It’s large enough that you’ll never run out of space — even during peak times. The water here is clear and shallow, making this a great spot for swimming, snorkeling, and fishing (you can rent equipment).

If your idea of fun doesn’t involve getting wet at all (but still wants to feel like they were on vacation), then Playa Coson may not be the best choice — there are very few shaded areas where you could lie down in comfort without getting sunburned or overheated. That said: if you do enjoy yourself some time in the sand and surf, this is an ideal place from which to do so! You’ll also find plenty of space around the beachfront bar if you want something cold or alcoholic before heading back into town for dinner tonight.

Beach Coson is a beautiful, secluded beach in Las Terrenas. The beach is part of Samaná Bay National Park, a protected area that stretches several miles along the coast.

The beach is rarely crowded, making it a great destination for those who like to vacation off the beaten path.

If you’re looking for a quiet and pristine beach to spend your vacation, Playa Coson is the perfect place. The beach is rarely crowded and it’s part of Samaná Bay National Park, which features over 50 miles of coastline. In addition to its natural beauty, this park is home to many species of birds and marine life; some even consider it one of the most important sites for marine biodiversity in all of Latin America.

There are two luxurious resorts on Playa Coson along with several small restaurants and bars. The restaurants and bars are located at both of the resorts, but not on the beach itself.

The reason for this is because Playa Coson has some pretty rough waves that can make it dangerous to enter into the water from a restaurant or bar (and if you do get in you’re going to be knocked down by a wave).

In addition to its beautiful beaches, Las Terrenas and its surrounding areas offer many outdoor adventures, including horseback riding, river kayaking, hiking in the mountains, whale watching and scuba diving.

Horses at Playa Coson

Many people also choose to visit Las Terrenas for its beautiful weather, which is sunny year-round with very little rain. Weather in the Dominican Republic can vary depending on the geographical region and time of day. In general, it’s hot and humid throughout most of the country from May through November; however, cool temperatures descend upon coastal areas during December through March.

Playa Coson is a beautiful destination–and there are airlines that offer inexpensive flights to Santo Domingo from many U.S. cities.

Additionally, some major U.S. airports have direct flights from the Dominican Republic, including Miami and Orlando International Airport in Florida.

If you plan on doing any traveling around the Caribbean while you’re in DR, it may be easier if you get a flight with one of these airlines: United Airlines (the only airline with flights all over Central America), Delta Air Lines (for destinations throughout South America), Spirit Airlines (for destinations throughout Central America).

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a place that offers beautiful beaches, fun activities and an authentic Dominican experience, then Las Terrenas may be just what you’re looking for! The beaches of Playa Coson are some of the best in all of the Caribbean, with white powdery sand and warm waters perfect for swimming, snorkeling or just relaxing. If you want to explore outside of Las Terrenas, there are plenty of other destinations within driving distance including Samana Bay National Park where you can go hiking along trails through lush rainforest or scuba diving off the coast.

Playa Ermitaño is a quiet beach in Las Terrenas that’s great for swimming and snorkeling. It’s also pretty easy to get to from downtown, so it makes sense to go there before or after hitting the shops and restaurants of Las Terrenas.

The most beautiful beach in Las Terrenas: Ermitaño

There’s a reason why Playa Ermitaño is the most popular beach in Las Terrenas. It has all of the qualities that make an ideal vacation spot: white sand, clear water and lush green hills. The scenery is both beautiful and relaxing.

But what makes this beach truly special is its people. Locals who have been here for years will welcome you with open arms and offer to share their delicious homemade rum cocktails with you while you enjoy your day at the beach.

FAQ

Is there a time of year that’s best for visiting Playa Ermitaño?

Yes, though it’s not as simple as “the summer” or “the winter.” Playa Ermitaño can be rented year-round, but the peak season runs from December through March. If you’re planning your trip around Christmas, New Year’s Eve or Carnival (when folks will be in town celebrating), book now to ensure availability!

Pros & Cons of Playa Ermitaño

Pros:

Playa Ermitaño is a great beach for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing. The sand is white, the water is blue and clear, there are lots of fish to see (we saw tons of seahorses!), and you can walk out pretty far before it gets too deep. There are also some cool rock formations that make great photo ops.

Cons:

The road leading up to Playa Ermitaño isn’t the best—it’s super bumpy sometimes (though they’re working on it). But once you get there it’s all worth it!

What to bring: sunscreen! Also bring snacks if you want lunch at the beach instead of going into town. Or pack a picnic lunch and eat at this picnic table right here! 🙂

What to do: go snorkeling with your friends in front of Playa Ermitaño! It’s so fun! I love seeing all those fishies swimming around me, especially when I’m wearing my goggles so they don’t see how many boogers I have in my nose 🙂

clear water at Playa Ermitaño

Is the Ermitaño Beach in Las Terrenas a public beach?

The Ermitaño Beach is not a public beach. It’s the property of a luxury resort called Villas de la Montaña and is only accessible to hotel guests. The villas are owned by the same company that owns Los Amigos del Mar, so if you stay at either place (or both), you will have access here as well.

How to get to Playa Ermitaño from Las Terrenas and Las Galeras?

Playa Ermitaño is a beach located in Las Terrenas, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. It’s part of an area known as El Bosque, which also includes Playa Lucecita, or “Little Light” beach.

Because it’s in a rural area and not a well-known tourist destination, it’s often overlooked by travelers to this part of Hispaniola. But every year when we go back home to visit family and friends living there, we always make sure to stop by Ermitano so that my parents can enjoy its beautiful waters along with their favorite seafood dish: chicharrón de camarón (fried shrimp). If you’re visiting this region or have plans on doing so soon but haven’t been able to find time yet, this article will provide all the information you need about getting from one place in Las Terrenas/Las Galeras down south towards Puerto Plata all way until Santiago de los Caballeros—and how much time each journey takes!

Things to do in Playa Ermitaño

*Swim*. There are public pools and a private club for those who want to spend a little more.

*Snorkel*. The coral reefs that surround Playa Ermitaño are some of the best in the country, with nurse sharks and stingrays just waiting to be spotted on your snorkeling adventure.

*Sunbathe*. There are plenty of good spots on this beach to lounge out in the sunshine while you relax and soak up some sun before heading off to have fun at some of our other activities listed below!

*Walk along the beach*. We can help you find your way through town or along more remote areas for an enjoyable walk that will take you far from tourists but still give you access to most everything Las Terrenas has to offer. If someone wants something different during their trip here then we’ll help them find something new each day!”

There are many restaurants in the area, so you’ll have no trouble finding one to fit your taste and budget.

Some of these restaurants serve local cuisine, which is generally very affordable. If you’re looking for authentic Dominican food and don’t mind spending a little extra, these are great choices.

Others offer international cuisine at higher prices—but keep in mind that Las Terrenas has become popular with foreigners and locals alike over the years, so these restaurants cater specifically to them and provide luxury amenities like private beaches, swimming pools (or even an onsite water park), and quality service staffs.

There’s also plenty of variety when it comes to hours: some places open early for breakfast or lunch; others stay open until late into the evening; still others offer both options as well as room service after hours; still more offer breakfast only but also allow customers access without making reservations first!

While it’s not as clear or soft as some other beaches in the area, Playa El Limon makes up for its lack of beauty with its breathtaking views and fun activities like horseback riding on the beach!

Playa El Limon is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Samana Peninsula

If you’re looking for a more tranquil beach experience, Playa El Limon is the place to be. Located in Las Terrenas, this beach is less crowded than other beaches in the area (though it still gets busy on weekends). The beach itself is gorgeous and has a waterfall that flows into the ocean. You can swim or surf here, but if waves aren’t your thing there’s plenty of space between them so even novice swimmers won’t feel too intimidated by them.

Pros & Cons of Playa El Limon

Pros:

The beach is beautiful and has amazing views of the mountains. It’s also very quiet, which means that you can relax without being surrounded by loud tourists or vendors trying to sell you something.

Cons:

The water is not as clear as some other beaches in the area, and it can sometimes be a little rocky (although this depends on the tide). Additionally, the sand isn’t as soft here—the grains are slightly larger than at other places nearby—but if you don’t mind this factor and want to visit a quieter place with great views of the mountains, it’s worth considering Playa El Limon for your next trip!

The beach is about 6 kilometers long

The beach is about 6 kilometers long and it’s lined with coconut trees, making it a beautiful and relatively uncrowded place to spend the day.

While most beaches in Las Terrenas are rocky, this one has some rocks along the water’s edge as well as some that sit just by the road. There are also many rocks in the sea itself; so be careful if you’re going swimming!

Horses on the beach

Horses are allowed on the beach, but not in the water (except for those who want to play wading games with their pets). Horses are not allowed in hotels and restaurants. Horses are not allowed in shops or car parks.

road to Playa el Limon

The road to Playa El Limon is very windy, with lots of hairpin curves going up and down hills. In addition to the beautiful scenery, it’s also incredibly scenic because there are many potholes on the road that make it quite bumpy. It’s not well maintained at all—in fact, it could use some serious repair work just so that people can be safe driving on it!

The water is not as clear, and the sand is not as soft as other beaches in the area

Playa El Limon has a rocky shore, making it clear that swimming is not recommended here. The sand is also mostly made of rocks, which can be uncomfortable to walk or lay on. This beach is best suited for those who enjoy hiking, as there are many trails that go through the surrounding forest and hills.

While Playa El Limon may not be the ideal place to swim or relax with your family, it’s still worth checking out if you want an adventure. The water is not as clear, and the sand is not as soft as other beaches in the area; however, there are plenty of fun things to do on land! But the sunset at Playa El Nino is the best what I saw.

A popular tourist destination from December to April

Playa El Limon is a popular tourist destination from December to April, when the weather is warmer and there aren’t as many locals on the beach. You’ll also find that it’s not as crowded as other beaches in the area, which makes it a great spot for families with small children who want to play safely.

Puerto Plata offers a great deal of activities and entertainment options to its visitors. The town has several museums and historical sites worth visiting, including the Museum of National History (which houses an impressive collection of artifacts), Parque de la Libertad (the largest park in Puerto Plata), Cabildo Abierto (a museum dedicated to Puerto Plata’s history) and Iglesia Santa María Magdalena (the oldest church in Puerto Plata).

You can take a tour of some nearby sugar mills or go horseback riding through banana plantations on your way back from Playa El Limon!

Playa El Limon has a waterfall.

The waterfall is not far from the beach. It’s a popular tourist attraction and you can easily see it while enjoying your day on the beach. If you want to go check out the waterfall, all you have to do is follow a trail that leads to a beautiful waterfall.

Conclusion

This beautiful beach is located in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. It is one of the most popular and best-known beaches in the Samana Peninsula. The 6 kilometer long beach has clear water and soft sand, but it’s not as clear or soft as other beaches in the area due to its location near an industrial port city which makes it somewhat less attractive than other nearby beaches such as Playa Rincon de La Vieja or Boca Chica Beach which are cleaner with lighter colors because they’re further away from any city activity. Nonetheless, if you’re looking for someplace quiet to relax on your next trip then check out Playa El Limon!

Playa Escondida, or Hidden Beach, is one of the best beaches in Las Terrenas. We like to think that this beach has a little magic to it. It’s hidden away down a steep trail with some steps and then you’ll find yourself on top of one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic. The waves are strong but not too strong for those who want to swim or snorkel around here.

Also there are some rocks which make great spots for sunbathing and relaxation!

The beach is well-known for its secluded location, which makes it a great getaway from busy cities and towns. It also has plenty of facilities for swimming and snorkeling, as well as some restaurants nearby if you want to grab something to eat after a day at the beach.

FAQ

Q: What is the best time to visit Playa Escondida ?

A: The weather in Las Terrenas tends to be hot and humid during the summer months (Dec-Apr) so we recommend visiting between May and October. We also recommend avoiding weekends during those months as they are very popular with tourists, which can make getting around town a bit hectic.

Q: What should I bring with me?

A: Be sure to pack sunscreen, bug lotion and an umbrella for rain protection! Also don’t forget any electronics you may need such as chargers, cameras or books! For your convenience there is WiFi at both locations but sometimes it can be slow so we recommend downloading what you need before leaving Puerto Plata Airport.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Casual attire is acceptable most days but if you plan on going out for dinner or dancing then opt for something more formal like a dress or nice shorts & shirt combo. Whatever you wear just make sure it looks good with sand because that’s all there really is here 😉

Q: How long does it take from Puerto Plata Airport?

A : It usually takes about 30 minutes by taxi depending on traffic conditions but don’t worry – Playa Escondida has someone waiting outside with a sign when they see our guests pull in just in case they don’t arrive at exactly 5pm 🙂

Pros & Cons of Playa Escondida

Pros:

It’s quiet, secluded, and beautiful. The beach is a sandy white, the water is clean and clear, and there’s nothing but sand between you and the ocean. There’s no one around to disturb your peace here!

The swimming conditions are great. There are two main swimming areas—one on either side of the beach—and both have calm water that’s perfect for swimming laps or just floating around with a good book (or maybe even some floaties!).

Cons:

Because Playa Escondida is so popular with tourists, it can get crowded during high season (December through April). If you’re looking for some peace and quiet away from all those people at home, this may not be the best choice for you; however, if you enjoy being surrounded by others who love nature as much as you do then this might be right up your alley!

Playa las Canas is located in Samana province and is part of Las Terrenas. This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Dominican Republic, which has crystal clear waters and soft white sand. The beach is located on the east coast of Hispaniola Island, which lies between Haiti and Puerto Rico. It is a perfect place for those who want to enjoy stunning views of the crystalline waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

There are many restaurants are shops located along this beach so you will have a lot of options for eating or staying here if you visit this town during your trip to Dominican Republic. If you want to relax and take a break from exploring Las Terrenas then visiting Playa las Canas will be good because it has many attractions such as cafes that serve delicious food.

Or restaurants where you can eat some great seafood dishes made with fresh fish caught right off their docks by local fishermen so they always deliver high quality meals every time they cook something up there but make sure before ordering anything because sometimes they don’t have certain items available so just ask what’s available before making any orders because they might not have certain items ready yet when they open especially if it’s early morning hours when most places don’t start serving until later afternoon/evening hours anyways but anyways overall speaking highly recommended place to visit while on vacation down here”

Playa las Canas is located in Samana province and is part of Las Terrenas.

Las Terrenas is a municipality in the Dominican Republic, which means that it’s not its own distinct country like Jamaica is from the United States or Venezuela from Colombia.

Playa las Canas is a great spot for all ages, as there’s something for everyone. The beach in front of the hotel can get quite crowded during peak season (December through April), but it’s easy to find more space by walking north along the beach or heading south to join one of Las Terrenas’ other beaches. Here are some other things you might want to know before your trip:

FAQ

What time is best to visit Playa las Canas?

Playa las Canas tends to be busiest from December through April, with fewer crowds in May and June. If you’re looking for an off-season destination that offers tropical weather year round, November through May may be better suited for you—but keep in mind that this time period also coincides with hurricane season! With so many options available within a short distance from Playa las Canas, there’s no reason not to explore around when planning your vacation.*

How far is Playa las Canas from Las Terrenas?

Bus rides between these two destinations take about 15 minutes each way (or less if traffic isn’t too bad). Taxis are also available throughout both towns and cost approximately $10 USD per ride.*

How long does it take on average between these two points?

On average it takes about 30 minutes by car via Route 27; however we recommend using public transportation such as buses or taxis because they will be able once again depending on how much traffic there currently is around town at any given moment in time.”

Beatiful beach Playa las Canas

You can reach the beach along the road that connects Las Terrenas to Portillo, which is at the end of El Valle.

If you are traveling by car, the road that connects Las Terrenas to Portillo is paved and well-marked for bikes. The road is not well marked for pedestrians, cars or cyclists.

To reach this beach by foot, take the path from El Valle (the end of the road) toward Playa las Canas.

How do you get to Playa Lanza del Norte?

The easiest way to get here is by car, which will take about 10 minutes depending on traffic. From the airport in Puerto Plata, take the highway toward Sosua and turn left at the second exit (exit 2). After passing through Sosua, continue driving along this road until you reach La Romana. Continue following this road until you reach a fork in the road at km 66; keep going straight and then turn right onto Route 40-1A toward Bayahibe/Guayabal de Sosua/Las Terrenas (there’s no sign for Playa Lanza).
Pros & Cons of Playa Lanza del Norte

Playa Lanza del Norte is one of the most popular beaches in Las Terrenas, a town on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. While it’s not as crowded as some other nearby beaches, you can still expect to see crowds. The beach is also known for its strong winds, which may be too much for some travelers who don’t enjoy being buffeted by the wind when they’re trying to relax on vacation.

So what are the pros and cons of Playa Lanza del Norte? Read on for more information!

PROS:

The water is clean and clear and there are no large rocks or coral that could hurt your feet if you step into the ocean.

There’s enough space between people at this beach so that everyone has room to relax without being crowded together all day long—or even worse yet: having someone else’s towel or chair in their way all day long!

There are several places where you can rent umbrellas (for shade) at different prices depending on how many people want their own umbrella versus sharing one large umbrella with others around them

Playa Lanza del Norte is protected by a long reef offshore,

Making the waters calm and shallow, even when the surf is high elsewhere on the coast.

This long, wide beach is protected by a long reef offshore, making the waters calm and shallow even when the surf is high elsewhere on the coast.

This is one of the best beaches in Las Terrenas for snorkeling because you can swim far out over the reef with only knee-deep water beneath you.

Your best bet for snorkeling is Playa Lanza del Norte. This beach is a 5-10 minute walk from the center of town, and has crystal-clear water and a beautiful reef that you can swim out to with only knee-deep water beneath you. It’s also an amazing place for swimming and sunbathing because it’s so calm, but watch out for jellyfish!

You can see lots of fish in this area, especially if you go early in the morning before all the tourists come out.

The currents make this an easy beach to reach by kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP).

The currents are mild and it’s a great place to take a break from the heat, as it’s in a quiet neighborhood—which means lots of relaxation time.

The best part? You can get to this beach by either kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP). If you don’t have your own equipment, ask around at your accommodations about where they rent SUPs or find one in town along with some other activities like snorkeling!

Also note that if you want to venture up further into the mountains towards Monte Cristi then this is where you’ll want to head!

If you’re looking for other beaches – head south towards Cabarete or east towards Sosua or Puerto Plata!

Conclusion

Playa Lanza del Norte is a great place to spend some time on the water. If you want to get some exercise while you’re there, grab a kayak or SUP and paddle around the reef. This beach is also one of the best spots in Las Terrenas for snorkeling because it’s protected by a long reef offshore that makes the waters calm even when other beaches are rough with surf.

Playa Moron is a highly-regarded beach in El Limon.

Playa Moron is a highly-regarded beach in El Limon. It’s a small, white sand beach with crystal clear waters and lifeguards. The water is shallow enough for kids to swim safely, but deeper than many of Dominicana other beaches so you can still go for long walks during low tide. The water leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth—and gives you the option of going for a dip after playing in the sand.

The beach has a few spots where you can set up camp (really just some rocks sticking out into the ocean) and enjoy lunch or dinner under the shade of palm trees. There are also showers on site if you want to rinse off before heading back home after spending all day at Moron beach, Las Terrenas!

FAQ

How long is the beach?

It’s about 600 meters long – a little over 6 football fields.

What are the best parts of the beach?

The right side of the beach is where you’ll find most people, as well as nice waves for surfing and bodyboarding. The left side is where you can relax on your towel in peace while enjoying a good book or listening to music (there’s no noise pollution). There are also plenty of palm trees here that provide shade, but it might be too hot in summer months when they don’t have any leaves left! At either end there are two lifeguards who watch over swimmers and surfers alike; they even rescue people who get caught out in strong rip currents every now and then!

How many people can you fit on this beach?

You could probably fit 2 million people if they stand shoulder-to-shoulder across both sides at once…but let’s not do that just yet! We recommend finding some shade under those palm trees instead!

Pros & Cons of Playa Moron

Pros:

Playa Moron is a beautiful, small beach that’s great for swimming, sunbathing, and surfing.

It also has some good snorkeling if you go out a little bit further into the water.

Fishing is not very good here because of all the rocks by the shoreline and other hazards that get in the way when trying to cast your line at fish.

The beach itself is fairly narrow and not very wide; there are no trees along it either which makes for an interesting sight when looking out over the ocean from this side of town!

How to get there from Las Terrenas

If you’re staying in Las Terrenas and are looking for a day trip to the beach, Playa Moron is a great option. It’s just 40 minutes away by bus, with departures every hour or so throughout the day. The cost of the ride is $4-$5 US dollars per person each way, depending on which bus company you choose to use (there are several).

The first step is catching one of these buses from Las Terrenas—they’ll be labeled “Playa Moron,” so look for them at any one of the many stops around town. There are many options: they come by every few minutes during tourist season and often run late into the evening as well. They leave from all over town; just look for something that says “Playa Moron” on it! If you’re not sure where to catch your bus, ask someone who works at one of the hotels near where you’re staying—they’ll know what time their hotel has scheduled its departure and can help point it out to you if necessary.

A nice place to visit.

Playa Moron is a nice beach. It’s a great place to visit if you want to spend the day or just relax for a few hours.

Makes for a nice day at the beach.

Playa Moron is a nice, relaxing beach. The waters are clear and warm, making this a good place to swim or snorkel. It’s also perfect for hanging out with friends and family—the people here tend to be more laid back than at other beaches. If you want a more active day at the beach, Playa Moron is an excellent spot for surfing or kayaking.

Whether it’s just you (and maybe your dog) or the whole family, there are many ways to make use of this scenic stretch of sand before heading home in the evening:

Playa Moron is a very nice beach.

Playa Moron from top

It has a nice beach bar and restaurant, which are just steps away from the sand. The restaurant serves excellent seafood, but if you’re not wild about seafood (as I am sometimes not), they also serve other kinds of food—like wonderful, fresh-baked empanadas! And did I mention how beautiful the view is? You can see both Playa Moron and Playa Madera from here. At night, you’ll be able to see the city lights twinkling on the hillside above as well as on other parts of your own sandy paradise.

It’s definitely worth making time in your trip to come here!

Conclusion

Playa Moron is a very nice beach. It is one of the best beaches in El Limon and one of the most scenic spots on the island. There are many other beautiful beaches around here, but if you want to enjoy some sun and surf there are few better choices than this one!

Playa El Anclon is a hidden gem of Las Terrenas. The beach is surrounded by lush vegetation and has plenty of shade so you can enjoy it even when it’s hot outside. If you’re looking for something more active, you can go surfing or kayaking nearby.

Playa El Anclon is located in Las Terrenas, Samana, Dominican Republic.

Playa El Anclon is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic, and it’s located on the north coast of the country. It’s a great place to hang out with friends, family or just by yourself if you’d like some time to yourself. You’ll see that there are plenty of activities available for everyone here.

Playa el Anclon

There are two types of sand at this beach: white and black sand. The white sand is soft and warm while the black sand feels more like sugar granules because it’s made from crushed shells! Other things you can do at Playa El Anclon include swimming and surfing up until October when rough weather begins here due to hurricane season (June through November).

Playa El Anclon is a great beach to visit and enjoy. It’s located between Playa Carolima and Playa Lutz, so you can choose whether you want to be in the action or have some peace and quiet during your trip. The beach itself is 250 meters long and 25 meters wide, which gives you plenty of space to set up your beach chair or umbrella and relax with a good book while enjoying the ocean breeze!

FAQ

What is the best time to visit Playa El Anclon?

The weather in Las Terrenas is hot year round, with temperatures ranging from 24°C (75°F) to 30°C (86°F). The dry season lasts from January to April, while rainy season runs from May to December. These patterns are consistent throughout this region of the Dominican Republic. However, El Anclon does have one advantage: it’s far enough up the coast that you may find slightly less rain here than elsewhere on the same latitude.

Is there good snorkeling at Playa El Anclon?

Not particularly—the water isn’t very clear and you won’t find many large fish or corals here. Still, if you enjoy swimming around without goggles and looking at some small creatures under your feet instead of above them, this beach could be perfect for your needs! Just know that if other beaches in Las Terrenas are better suited to snorkeling activities like these ones [link], then don’t expect much out of this particular spot unless it’s cloudy out (when visibility improves).

It is near to the center of this popular tourist destination.

Playa El Anclon is near to the center of Las Terrenas, and it’s also close to Samana and Dominican Republic. You can find this spot on the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean (the same ocean).

The beach is very long, and it has a beautiful water. The sand is really soft, and there are many palm trees surrounding the area. You can enjoy swimming in this beach because there’s no current or waves. You can also see the beautiful sunset from here because it faces the west side of Dominican Republic.

If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing beach, Playa El Anclon is the perfect place for you. The beach is approximately 250 meters long and 25 meters wide. Although it is quite narrow compared to other beaches in Las Terrenas, it has many palm trees surrounding it so that you can feel like you are in your own little world when laying down on the sand.

If you are someone who likes to travel light during your vacation, this beach might not be right for you because of how far away from everything else it is located. However, if being away from tourist traps and noise sounds like an ideal holiday experience to you then give nice Playa El Anclon a try!

Playa El Anclon is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic. The beach is located on the eastern coast of Samaná Bay, which makes it one of the largest bays in the Caribbean. This breathtaking beach is surrounded by ocean waters that are turquoise blue and sparkling clear. The water at this beach has been rated as excellent for snorkeling, swimming and scuba diving because it does not have a lot of waves or undertow to worry about.

The sand at Playa El Anclon is soft, white and powdery like sugar! There are also plenty of palm trees to provide shade from hot sun or rain showers so you can relax comfortably while enjoying your day on this gorgeous piece of paradise! If you don’t feel like getting wet then simply walk along with other tourists who have rented jet skis or catamarans from nearby vendors who offer them daily rentals during all hours except between 10am-3pm since those hours are reserved exclusively during peak season (November through April).

Conclusion

The main thing to remember is that this is a public beach, so it’s not going to be as pristine as some private beaches. However, there are still lots of places to go and things to do during your stay at Playa El Anclon. It may not be the most ideal location for swimming or sunbathing all day long; however, if you want an affordable vacation with great views of nature and culture then this is the place for you!
